Look at that infrastructure... I am in awe.
Looks like you entered the Westbound San Bernardino Freeway from Fremont Street in Alhambra.
Great stuff, Jim! I've driven on these roads so many times! Still awesome to watch! Thanks!
Thank you for watching!
3:13 Did you meant to put I-20 instead of I-10 for the 636 miles
Yes, typos happen.
These videos are GREAT! My only suggestion would be to notate the ALTITUDE of the major stops along your way............ safe travels!
Thank you, I've done that in some previous videos and on this one I did add the official signs stating the altitude as we approached the Eisenhower Tunnel at 15:12 and at Vail Pass at 22:50 and at Vail at 24:50.
Very nice video Jim! Really, Key West is a beautiful area. I hope to visit one day. The music and the scenery just makes this video calm and cool!
Thank you! Key West is definitely worth visiting, I hope you get there.
What happened to the previous video?
Copyright issues with some of the songs, it's been down for several years now.
@@Freewayjim How many songs do you have in the previous video
This is i69 too
It's a dream
One of the first urban freeways if not the first, and it shows.
I've heard of the song called hot stuff
It was a huge hit in 1979, #1 for three weeks in a row. Those were my early teen years, good times!
Lmfao. I wish I noticed the word North. I kept waiting to see LA
Part of the ramp that was being built for the extension of the I794 was used in the Blues Brothers for the Illinois nazi chase scene. It was later demolished sense they changed there mind for the extension
I take 90 down to 39 when I go up north
0:15 the time laspe from Saint Petersburg to Tampa begins, and we're on our way!
What is title/artist at beginning,please?
It's an apple loop called Chelsea Loft. ua-cam.com/video/-U0XlbTKJmE/v-deo.html
Please do some more!
I don't have any travel plans right now but hopefully someday.
When Were You Doing A Face Reveal
I've done many at the end of 2019-2022 videos, director's commentary.
Grew up 10 miles from the GWB. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve crossed that bridge. NYC Highways are a thrill ride! Tight turns, bad pavement, ups and downs, quick merges, walls 12” from your car, limited sight distance, traffic and everything else that makes driving them so challenging. A true “white knuckle” ride for a driver not used to them!!!
That is all so accurate.
I-495 should go by in bound & out bound since its a belt way
I’m Doing Videos For You, Sometimes On The Autobahns.
I Can Never Stop Watching This Video!!
Glad you enjoy it!
Love your song choices for these vids. Hope you're doing well, Jim.
Thank you very much and all is good.
Been a fan of this channel since I was 8 years old in 2010…came back for the first time in a while and now I’m 22 and just graduated college as a civil engineer and will be working in the transportation field. Just wanted to say this channel was one of the things that drove my interest in civil engineering and highways throughout my childhood..this channel will always be special to me!!
Thank you for watching and for sharing that, I wish you the best for your career!
2:37 end I-280 North I-75 North/I-75 sign appears in the top left of video screen 3:15 entering Michigan
Where I go to Washington to see former president Barack Omaba not to see Myron Bloodsaw
Another road I’ve been on a 1000 times! For 6 years I drove up and down Topanga Canyon from the 118 Fwy! I worked at Vista Ford & Lincoln! Back then it was Vista Ford & Isuzu, on Ventura Blvd, about two blocks on your left. Then from Ventura Blvd to PCH, I was looking for a building Lot. Plus it’s just a cool drive.
Here in 2024
I just watched your video Vegas to Barstow, and left a comment. I moved to Vegas in 76, by way of Hesperia from Phoenix Az, where I grew up! So this was another trip from Las Vegas to Phoenix I’ve made about a 100 times, initially from 76 to 84! And again when I moved back in 99 to 08! The first couple years going back to Phoenix was for my HS Sweetheart! And family and friends I have there. That girl and I broke up in early 79! So the reason I moved back to Vegas was that same Girl from Phoenix 20 years later! Anyway since we both grew up there, both still had family and friends in Phoenix, so would go 5/6 times a year from 99 to 08, but you had to go through Boulder City and through Hoover Dam, which I liked because it’s very scenic. We went to Phoenix a couple weeks after 9/11 when they first put in Security to check all Vehicles crossing Hoover Dam! That was surreal and of course still done to this Day. Of course even up until 08 the 11 wasn’t even a thought, well might have been a thought. Since 2021 I’ve have now been on the 11 and over the Mike O’Callaghan Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge about a dozen times! I have taken the old way several times going up Boulder Highway to old 93, the Great Basin Hwy until it throws you onto the interstate 11. I have driven as far as they let you go on Kingman Wash Access Road. It’s a nice drive
It's definitely an interesting area and I'm sure it's changed a lot since you've been there. Thank you for watching and for the comments.
I lived in Vegas twice. 76-84 & 99-08! Wife and Son born, wife raised. Moved to Van Nuys in 84, then North Hollywood, finally Simi Valley, so I’ve made this trip hundreds of times! 91 to 08 either from or to Simi Valley! So we would take what some call the back way! So from Vegas I take the I-15 to Victorville and Palmdale Rd, which is the 18, then to Pearblossom Hwy or the 138, to the 14, then 118. When I left Vegas in 08, I did not know then it would be a little over 12 years before I would be back. Wow from 08 to 21, barely recognized Vegas, been back a dozen times now for business and some doctor stuff! Way too big for me now! Not that special little Town it once was😎
Do you know the offspring band?
I've heard of them.
Do you know the offspring?
I wrote a song by this song it's called connecticut
Well done Freeway Jim. 👊🏻Which video editor do you use?
Thank you, I use Final Cut Pro X, my gear is listed in the closing credits.

Jim actually alive :D
Yes, I'm alive.
Are you ok freewayjim i heard about Atlanta having no water
Yeah, I don't live in the city, I live in Metro Atlanta, about 45 minutes outside of Downtown.
At 5:37, I would figure it would be easier to take US-169 South to Kansas City (Awesome Video BTW).
Thanks, I was taking a specific route for what I wanted to film, not the most efficient way through.
@@Freewayjim The route you took made for a good video thats for sure. Would love to travel to KC sometime
@@CromzPlayz Thanks!
That will be a no! I have a phobia about bridges and tunnels.
It's a good thing you added two one-hit wonders of Portland, OR based artists in this drive video around Portland, OR. Both songs did peak at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. "I Can't Wait" was at #3 for a week on June 14, 1986, losing to "Live to Tell" by Madonna which falls to #2 and "On My Own" by Patti Labelle, and Michael McDonald which climbs to #1. "Harden My Heart" was at #3 for two weeks between February 13 to 20, 1982, losing to "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" by Daryl Hall & John Oates at #2 and "Centerfold" by The J. Geils Band at its peak at #1.
concrete, traffic and fumes. wow🙄
Is it a boring city? Are people nice or cold ? Is there a strong sense of culture and food ?
I've lived in the Metro area for 47 years, it can be whatever you make of it, it depends on your tastes and lifestyle.
I truly like your classical rock collection. Do you have a repo of everything somewhere on the cloud?
Thank you, not on the cloud but I do have backups on external drives.
An area I know all too well. I reside 2 hrs south in Dublin, Georgia. It's that exit from 75 to get on 85 that gets me every time. It's the left exit that has a nasty right hand switchback. I nearly learned that exit the hard way.its not easy having to brake from 70 down to 15. I personally don't see how they even maneuver it.
Using "Ah! Leah!" in a drive through Pittsburgh north of the Alleghany and Ohio Rivers is a nice song of choice since that one-hit wonder of Donnie Iris made this song as an unofficial anthem of not only Pittsburgh, but all of Western Pennsylvania.
in the year 2035 can you do another boston trip
I'd like to before then, lol.
Where Is The Beginning Place At The Very Very Beginning
I'm not sure I understand the question.
